History of Dairiki Shoten

Founded in 1882

The first Rikimatsu, who was from Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, worked as a servant at "Taiheiei" in the Nihonbashi fish market. Later, Rikimatsu left "Taiheiei" and established "Dairiki Shoten" in the Nihonbashi fish market in 1882 (Meiji 15).

In September 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred, causing extensive damage to the then Nihonbashi fish market, which was then relocated to Tsukiji.

The second generation, Shigeru, took on the name of his predecessor, Chikaramatsu. The second generation, who had a good reputation as a connoisseur, became a pioneer of "Chayamonoya," which took orders from high-class restaurants and traditional Japanese restaurants and delivered them the next day. He also took care of chefs from the Kansai region, which were rare in Tokyo at the time, and trained them as first-class chefs.

1950
Dairiki Shoten Co., Ltd. was established

In 1950, the second generation owner, Rikimatsu, suddenly passed away at the age of 55. As his third son, Shigeo, was still a minor at the time, his wife, Katsu, took over as the third generation owner. In the same year, Dairiki Shoten Co., Ltd. was established.
Two years later, Hideo took over as the fourth generation owner at the age of 20. As the accounting manager, he oversaw the store's operations and continued to run the store for about 50 years.

Carrying on the hopes of our predecessors

In 2009, the current president, Masaru V, took over. In October 2018, following the closure of Tsukiji Market, the company moved to Toyosu Market, where it remains to this day. The fifth generation president values each and every customer, greets them with a smile, and works hard every day to do his job with care.

Thanks to the efforts of our predecessors, we have the strength we have today. Our goal is to meet the needs of the times and provide the best fresh fish to the best chefs.
